I’ve always loved the movie “Groundhog Day”. Not just because of Bill Murray, who always makes me laugh, but because the premise of repeating the same day over and over just appeals to me.
Of course we get a little real-life taste of the idea each year when we “fall back” from daylight saving time to standard time, by repeating one hour at 2am (the official reset time) and actually going backwards to 1am all over again.
Even though this is more about a government mandate, which some states ignore (Hello, Indiana!) and isn’t really a small burp in the time-space continuum–I still think it would be a fascinating thing if this same “repeat first down” effect happened at a random hour, every day!
Sure, there are some downsides, but much as Bill Murray’s character learns in the movie, think of all the mistakes you could fix! All the things you could actually say, instead of wishing you had!
What would you do with that ability?
